12.25.10 Proposal #5
As it is the worst time of year for skateboarding (what with the snow everywhere) I have spent a lot of time staring at my boards, and wishing I could customize them, and that is just what I am going to do, I am thinking of a few designs and will test them later, but they should be completed by no later than 12.31.10
11.12.10 Proposal #4
As it is I need observational work inside my portfolio, and I don’t have any that are remotely good, so this proposal is short and simple, I will work my hands to the bone and will generate as many renditions of still lives as I can.
11/12/10 Proposal #3
After pulling up the website during class, Mr. Miller introduced “The Sketchbook Project” to us I was instantly fascinated with the idea, and just friday afternoon I received my Sketchbook, I tested a few ideas on som loose pater, untill I came to a result I was proud of.
For the first day all I should be doing is laying out the panels and the gutters for my comic, after that, I will pencil in a rough outline of how I want to tell the narrative, and then I’ll devote a huge amount of time to inking it all in. I hope that part one will be finished by the end of today, the pencil work done by the end of the 9′th and hopefully if all goes well, I will be done the inking by this time next week.
10/1/10 Proposal #2
I would like to create a series of small one paneled comic stories using my characters in their environments, be they school hallways, the skate shop, even the slush ‘n stuff.
I want to do this to find out how the characters should act, what there personalities are like, what there relationships are with each other, and to start my head thinking about what kind of stories I can tell with them.
For this I will need anywhere from 12-15 sheets of standard printer sized paper, pencils, erasers, pens, masking material, and color pigment (be it watercolor, or marker I have not yet decided.)
I worked through all of last week working on this idea, trying various techniques and finding different options, and so far my progress has been very good, I was able to successfully fail with some materials, and was able to find out a better system to work with. it took me about three days to finish one piece, which given my calculations should keep me busy for the next four or five weeks, but I want to be finished this series by 10.31.10 (Portfolio Day)
9/2/10 Proposal #1
Mr Miller pointed out a few areas around the school building that would be interesting to place some striking black and white paintings using my characters, he pointed out three small windows about six inches tall and a yard long (I will get accurate measurements within a few days).
I belive that if installed just a few striking black and white paintings it would be a great way to not only display my work, but also give me some good insight into interventionist artwork, a topic I was only introduced to a few days ago by mr. Miller, in short interventionist art is simply artwork of any media that interrupts a daily lifestyle, such as in this case, people turning their heads in a hallway, as they make there long (and perilous?) journey to their next class.
for this I will need, accurate measurements of the windows, foam coreboard (fit to size) stencils, and paint.
I would like some time to sketch for myself what I would like this project to look at in the end, I figure my next friday (9/10/10) I will have a design concept I am comfortable with. by that monday (9/13/10) I will have the coarboard, measured and all prepped to be painted, from that point on I think it will take me five to seven class periods to complete each individual piece (in other words either being finished by (9/17/10) or (9/19/10)
