Artist Statement

My approach to art is the same philosophy that Socrates used his phrase “the only true knowledge is knowing that you know nothing” with this I start my process, not starting from a disciplined process learned from a university or a teacher, a process more derived from a kid getting creative on rainy days.  The work I have done has a blunt and un-experienced look to it, because it is, if you are the kind of person who zooms in as they look at art you see that my control of line is varied and my proportioning is off but to those who look at the big picture first then look into the details they see moistly overly exaggerated cartoon characters all having a good time or performing some shenanigan, then the mistakes seem to make sense with the spirit of the characters.

I hope that by looking at my work you can go mentally back to a childhood feeling, seeing images and situations somewhat clichéd from children’s cartoons and comic characters. I do this because of how serious the world is, and interestingly enough, nobody likes how serious and intense the world can be at times, and the best escape from times like that is to think like the way they were kids.

Presently I am working on a cartoon, and a series of the chartoons charictors on various mediums, however as of this point they have not been developed enough for me to display or reflect on.
